Joining the Miami Valley Young Marines

So you think you are ready for the Young Marines Program? That is for your will and the Drill Instructors to decide. Please see our About Us Section first to make sure this is the right program for you. If you think that you are ready, please see the Recruit Platoon page for the upcoming Open Houses the dates for our upcoming class. You can also check out all of the great events that the Unit has planned in our Training section. You are welcome to stop in on any regularly scheduled meeting to speak with us. These are held on Wednesday nights at the St. Peter Church, 6161 Chambersburg Road, Huber Heights, OH 45424. Stop by and see us, it may just change your life forever!

Criteria

1. You must want to be in the program, this is not a boot camp to correct the behavior of youth (Parents, please do not force a child to go). It will however aid in some minor cases.

2. There is an initial cost of $35 to join our program. This includes your cover (camouflage hat), guidebook, belt, knowledge cards, and the programs insurance.

3. Children with disabilities are not disqualified from the program, but all issues must brought to our attention before the Recruit starts training.

4. A recent sports physical (within one year) must be brought in a placed in their file before training begins.

5. If you have any further questions or concerns please contact one of the staff members, we also hope that you will attend one of our Open Houses which are listed on the Recruit Platoon Page, attendance of these Open Houses are not required to join.

The sessions are held monthly on the weekends. Check our Recruit Platoon section for the times, dates, and locations of these functions. If you miss one don't worry, you can simply attend the next one of that session.

All Recruits will attend our regularly scheduled Wednesday night meetings, but can not attend non-Training related functions. For questions on this, please speak to the Training Officer while you are at the meeting.
